The Anonian
love-hate relationship

A few weeks ago, I opened a schematic and board layout to receive an error message:

Your version of Eagle cannot support the current board size. / Some objects extend outside the allowed area.

(paraphrased)

I have had Eagle Premium for years and had opened that schematic and layout earlier in the week. For some reason, the Eagle software on my computer randomly decided that I had a Free license. On the Autodesk website, it still said that I had a Premium license. Why was Eagle doing this? What could I do to fix it?

After hours of research and trial and error, I came across a solution that finally worked:

  1. Close EAGLE
  2. Go to C:\Users\yourUsername\AppData\Roaming\eagle
  3. Delete all of the subscription files
  4. Start EAGLE and sign in

This solution worked for me and for another colleague who experienced the same issue. Rumors online say that the issue is caused by updating Eagle versions. If this solution doesn’t work for you, go through all of the suggestions on this forum (it’s where the solution above came from):
