Personal growth and development is a thrilling roller-coaster ride littered with countless twists, numerous turns, endless ups, just as many downs, a plethora of backslides, and Death himself serving as the conductor, waiting for your demise.
In other words, self improvement is a truly never-ending process. Even if you give up on yourself, the ride keeps going… just in the wrong direction. There is no escape; so long as you continue to live, you are on this ride with the rest of us.
If you are not in a state of progression, you are in a state of regression.
Realizing what you are doing wrong is good for self improvement, but learning to frame those realizations in a positive light is just as important. It’s actually imperative for your mental health. Don’t focus so much on what you are doing wrong; instead, orient your mind towards a mode of “positive forward-focused thinking.”
Focus on the positive things you are doing to improve your wrongs, not the wrongs themselves.
Don’t say…
“Oh. I’m doing this wrong,”
Definitely do say…
“I am working towards doing this right.”
