Time and time again I find myself at odds with people who litter, people whose pants never reach higher than their ankles, and with people who refuse to use the Oxford comma.
I love my friends, Whiskey and Jack Daniels.
Are you saying that Whiskey and Jack Daniels are your only friends and that you love them? Or are you saying that you love all of your friends, and Whiskey, and Jack Daniels? Thanks to your refusal to add in that comma, we’ll never know.
The English language is complicated enough as it is. In fact, it is so complicated that there are people who have spoken the language their entire lives and still fail classes on the subject. From now on, please use the Oxford comma:
I love my friends, Whiskey, and Jack Daniels.
